Why the Players on the Bench Matter More Than We Notice

Sports stories usually follow the person holding the ball. Cameras track the scorer, the captain, or the player who delivers the final moment. Yet every team also depends on people who spend long periods watching from the side. Bench players live in an unusual space. They are part of the contest, but they may never enter it. Their preparation remains invisible. Their impact is easy to overlook. Still, they can shape the mood, discipline, and resilience of an entire team. Ready Without Certainty A substitute must prepare as seriously as a starter. The difference is that the substitute does not know whether the chance will arrive. That uncertainty is demanding. A player may warm up twice and remain unused. They may study the opponent for ninety minutes, then be asked to change the game with five minutes left. This requires patience without passivity. The player must stay emotionally involved. They cannot drift into disappointment. They must keep reading the field, noticing tired defender...

How CA Abhay Bhutada And The Abhay Bhutada Foundation Build Futures Through Education

Image
The Abhay Bhutada Foundation is still young, yet it already carries the sort of standing that usually takes far longer to build. It opened in Pune in 2023 with a single aim, to give children in under-resourced communities a genuine route forward, and it treats schooling as the way to lay that route. CA Abhay Bhutada, who started the organisation and chairs it, holds every programme against one question, whether it solves something a school or a household actually needs. The approach has produced results. Families and teachers across Maharashtra now describe the Abhay Bhutada Foundation as a partner that returns, not a donor that appears once, and it has earned that description quicker than most. TL;DR: Started in Pune in 2023 by CA Abhay Bhutada, the Abhay Bhutada Foundation works across education, healthcare, and sports for underserved communities. Through LearnByDoing, STEM kits in rural schools, scholarships, and a series of recent 2025 and 2026 initiatives, it has reached more than...

Abhay Bhutada Foundation Made Shivsrushti Visits More Affordable in 2025

Image
The Abhay Bhutada Foundation supported Shivsrushti in Pune in 2025 by giving an additional donation of INR 75 lakh. Shivsrushti was built as a cultural and historical project focused on the life, work, and legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The donation helped continue affordable ticket pricing for visitors and allowed more people to experience the project. This additional support came after the Foundation had already contributed INR 50 lakh earlier in 2025. That first donation helped reduce the entry ticket price to INR 50 from May 15, 2025, to August 15, 2025. The reduced ticket rate received a strong response from the public, with more than 1.5 lakh visitors coming to Shivsrushti during that period. After seeing this response, the Abhay Bhutada Foundation announced another INR 75 lakh contribution on August 13, 2025. This helped extend the discounted ticket rate until October 31, 2025. The extension gave more students, families, schools, and history lovers a chance to visit Shiv...
